Our artisans excel in traditional crafts like hand-block printing, Lambadi and Kantha embroidery, hand-quilting, crochet, and handloom weaving, making every product a unique representation of India's rich heritage.

Having grown up in a country and a home rich in textiles, craftsmanship has been woven into my everyday life. As the founder of Kathya, I’m deeply inspired by the artistry, stories, and soul behind handmade traditions. Through Kathya, I hope to celebrate that heritage—bringing timeless, thoughtfully crafted pieces into contemporary homes, while supporting the incredible artisans who make them.

The Porgai Artisans Association is a collective of skilled Lambadi women artisans from Tamil Nadu, India. Guided by Dr. Lalitha Regi, this group of over 60 artisans has preserved and elevated the rich legacy of Lambadi embroidery—each stitch a reflection of their cultural identity. “Porgai,” meaning pride, speaks not only to the artistry they uphold but also to the dignity and independence their craft brings to their lives.
